Becoming my Mother and Bourbon-Blue Cheese Dip

You know you are turning into your mother and/or grandmother when you go to the grocery store for eggs and come back without eggs.  AND…when you get a free movie promo code texted to you from Red Box and you select and bring home a movie to watch that you actually purchased a month ago and own.  AND…have some coffee and return the pot to the fridge instead of the coffee maker and find said coffee pot by moving it out of the way to acquire some milk at a later time, but don’t notice that you just moved a coffee pot in the fridge until a good 15 minutes after the fact.  AND…that all this happens on the same morning.

In other news, I talked to my mom this morning.  She told me she was going to “Wal Marks” and “Best Buys”.  My dad and mom are making a day of this outing, but she stressed that they had to be home before The Doctors come on television.

Something for your holiday parties…

Bourbon-Blue Cheese Dip

Ingredients
½ pound good quality blue-veined cheese
2 8-ounce blocks cream cheese
6 tablespoons Jim Beam Bourbon
5 apples
Lemon Juice

Preparation
Have cheeses at room temp.  Mash the cheeses and stir in Jim Beam, blending vigorously with fork until smooth.  When ready to serve, slice apples and coat with lemon juice to prevent from turning black.

Dip will keep for 1 month covered in the refrigerator.  The flavors steep during this time and the bourbon flavor becomes more distinct.
